CDO Musical 2021 The Secret Garden

Composer Soon Hee Newbold visited CDO HS Orchestra on 9/20/19. Orchestra played Arabian Dreams by the composer. Had a wonderful time getting know her and work with her.

Boston Trip, March 28- April 1, 2019

CDO Orchestra Traveled to Boston, MA to compete at the Worldstrides Onstage, Heritage Music Festival. The Orchestra received the 1st place, Gold Rating. Also received Adjudicators Award, and Maestro Award (Soloist) was given to Kai Skaggs (Violin, Senior). The Orchestra is invited to the Festival of Gold next year in Costa Mesa, CA to perform at the Segerstrom Concert Hall on April 6, 2020.

27 Orchestra members and 4 chaperons and the director, Toru Tagawa visited many of the historical part of Boston, starting with the Boston guided walking tour, Berklee College of Music tour, Quincy Market, Harvard Square, Arlington HS, Salem Witch Museum, Boston Symphony Hall, and ending at the New England Aquarium for the award ceremony.

At Arlington HS, where Mr. Tagawa graduated from, CDO and Arlington HS Orchestras performed, and coached by Dr. Adam Boyles (CDO Graduate, now Orchestra Professor at MIT). CDO Orchestra performed the Moorish Dance by Verdi arranged by Mr. Tagawa’s former Arlington HS Orchestra teacher, Dr. Tassone. CDO Orchestra performed Emerald Falcon by Richard Meyer and Irish Legend by Robert Kerr arranged by Soon Hee Newbold.
